Inspeccion & Testing

image436

If you are researching mold, you might come across different services and costs that list both mold inspection and mold testing. Mold inspection simply identifies the presence of mold and generally defines the size of the problem, usually in square footage.

Mold testing attempts to identify what specific type of mold is found in your home and how many mold spores are in the air. However keep in mind the following:

  1. The carefully controlled conditions required to conduct a proper scientific test of mold are      extremely difficult to achieve in a home, so results will often vary from      test to test, regardless of remediation efforts.
  2. Second, all indoor spaces have      mold spores that drift in from outdoors, so mold tests will generally      provide a long list of species, most of which are not actually growing in      your home.
  3. Third, the EPA has set no  guidelines for      an acceptable amount of mold or mold spores in a house. Organizations      like The Minnesota Department      of Health and the New York State      Department of Labor agree that mold testing is      not always useful for this reason, and instead recommend hiring a      professional to look for growing colonies. Note that some mold inspections      include mold testing or sampling, particularly in states where it is      required by law.

Removal

When our inspection determines that there is mold on your property, our certified team's primary concern is the potential risk of your excessive exposure to mold. Mold counts in the air can be 10 to 1000 times higher than normal.

Our company offers different methods to achieve excellent mold removal performance:

Containment areas

Air cleaners

Negative Air Pressure Units

Decontamination procedures

Disinfectant

Fumigation

Air filtration ventilation (s) / duct systems

Antifungal biocide

But you should keep in mind that the details of your mold remediation service are determined based on the details of your mold problem.

The factors involved will determine the mold repair plan and your specific treatment process will be provided in detail in your Mold Inspection Report.

Air Testing

Sometimes you just know something doesn’t smell or feel right in the room. Our bodies are very sensitive to irritants and contaminants in the environment. Although sometimes our intuition may be wrong, often when you feel these things, mold is present in the air. In these cases, carefully analyzing the overall air quality of your environment is the only way to know for sure. We use specialized air sampling equipment to capture your air for lab analysis.

This service could include samples from many different areas of your home or business. We then send them out to the lab for identification and the results are compiled in a report that our experts will review with you.
